Rakell Talks Progress, Lindholm Trains In Sweden

According to TSN’s Bob McKenzie, Rickard Rakell has been looking for a six-year deal worth about $4 million per year. It seems the Anaheim Ducks are willing to do a six-year deal, but not at $4 million per year. Rakell is still recovering from his recent surgery. He plans to be ready for the October 13 season opener, but even if re-signed it’s not a given he will be good to go.

Yesterday Hampus Lindholm practiced with Swedish team Rögle BK. Lindholm usually trains with Rögle BK before the NHL season and is using this time to stay in shape while his contract is still up in the air. Lindholm played for the Rögle Junior Team from 2010-2012 and the main club during the 2011-12 season. Lindholm played in the World Cup of Hockey for Team Sweden. Once they were eliminated from the tournament, Lindholm watched some of the other competitions amongst the crowd and then began training. The price range being discussed for Lindholm’s contract appears to be between $5 and 7.5 million.
