Practice Report: Getzlaf Rests, Wagner Recalled
By Michael Walters
The Anaheim Ducks could be without their captain Ryan Getzlaf tomorrow as they host the Detroit Red Wings. Getzlaf sustained a lower-body injury in Anaheim’s wild 4-3 shootout victory over the Philadelphia Flyers this past Sunday. He wasn’t present at the team’s practices yesterday or today. He received treatment the past two days and remains day-to-day per assistant coach Paul MacLean. The Anaheim Ducks recalled
The Anaheim Ducks recalled Chris Wagner in case Getzlaf can’t go tomorrow. Wagner has played in 21 games with Anaheim, scoring two goals. He has an on-ice rating of -4. Rickard Rakell could move into the center position if Getzlaf is out. Wagner would likely play fourth line center as a result. Here were the forward combinations at today’s practice per NHL Correspondent Curtis Zupke.
Joseph Cramarossa – Rickard Rakell – Corey Perry
Andrew Cogliano – Ryan Kesler – Jakob Silfverberg
Nick Ritchie – Antoine Vermette – Ondrej Kase
Logan Shaw – Chris Wagner – Jared Boll
