The San Diego Gulls announced yesterday that they signed left wing Jordan Samuels-Thomas to a two-year contract.
Samuels-Thomas recorded 24 total points(12 G + 12 A) with 17 penalty minutes (PIM) and a +13 rating in 56 games with San Diego last season. He also scored one goal (1-0=1) with two penalty minutes in the Calder Cup Playoffs with the Gulls. Last season he also played 9 games in the ECHL with the Utah Grizzlies and Florida Everblades. He recorded 6 total points(3 G + 3 A) in Utah and two points in Florida(0 G + 2A).
Samuels-Thomas is a power forward with good size at 6’4″, 210 pounds. He is good with his hands and working with the puck in tight situations. He is willing to go into the corners and work hard down low. Samuel-Thomas brings a physical style of play to the game and will drop the gloves if necessary.
