Practice Report: Getzlaf Skates, Fowler Walks
By Michael Walters
The Anaheim Ducks hit the ice today at Anaheim ICE for practice after their big 6-2 win over Montreal last night.
Ryan Getzlaf skated today with Corey Perry and Rickard Rakell. Getzlaf is hopeful to play on the upcoming four-game road trip. Hampus Lindholm was also present on the ice for a good length of time. Both have a good chance to play in the next week. Sami Vatanen was also present today, but his return seems to be a little farther out.
Patrick Eaves was not present on the ice today. He is not going to travel with the team on next week’s road trip.
Fowler Has An MRI
Cam Fowler was spotted at practice walking without crutches. It’s a good sign, but it’s still too early to tell the extent of his injury. He did have an MRI today and the results of that should provide some clarity on the situation. Fowler is currently second on the team in on-ice time(24:43) and has been the Ducks power-play quarterback. His absence should necessitate the return of Lindholm and Vatanen sooner rather than later.
The Ducks will travel tomorrow and practice Monday in Philadelphia.
