Game 20: Ducks Take Two-Game Win Streak To San Jose

By Michael Walters

The Anaheim Ducks(9-7-3) head to San Jose to face the Sharks(10-8-0). The game starts at 7:30 PM PT and will be on Prime Ticket locally and AM 830. The Ducks are 0-0-1 against the Sharks this season.

Anaheim Outlook:

The Ducks were able to hang on and defeat the Florida Panthers last night 3-2 thanks in large part to John Gibson, who had to make 50 saves for the victory. Gibson is now 4-0-0 when he has faced 40 or more shots this season. Since he was taxed last night Reto Berra will start tonight in net. Ryan Miller did practice this past weekend but was placed on the injured reserve(IR) today. Cam Fowler was taken off the IR and will play tonight.

Keys To The Game

The Ducks need to jump out to a lead with this being their second game in two nights. Regardless who is in net tonight, Anaheim also has to do something about the number of shots they are allowing on net. The Ducks were able to get two power play goals last night, so look for them to take advantage when they have the extra skater.

San Jose Outlook:

The Sharks are currently in sixth place in the Pacific Division at 20 points. Logan Couture is leading the way with 10 goals. Joonas Donskoi has five goals. Joe Pavelski and Chris Tierney each have four goals.

Keys To The Game

San Jose beat Anaheim in their first matchup of the season in a shootout. Joel Ward scored a late goal to send the game to overtime. Tonight the Sharks will look to jump on the Ducks early since they played last night. They will also look to pepper the Anaheim net as the Ducks lead the league in shots against at 35.7 per game.

San Jose’s  Projected Lineup:
