Anaheim Outlook:
The Anaheim Ducks have lost two in a row and will look to get back on track against their SoCal rival’s tonight. The Ducks sent Jaycob Megna and Reto Berra back to San Diego. Ryan Miller was activated from the injured reserve list and could start tonight since John Gibson played last night. Ondrej Kase and Jared Boll both skated in an optional practice this morning. They both won’t play tonight and Randy Carlyle hasn’t decided if either will go on the upcoming road trip.
Keys To The Game
The Ducks can’t afford a slow start against the Kings. If Anaheim gets down early, then it could be a long night. The last time these two teams met it was a tight checking and physical affair as are most of these contests. Anaheim needs to play smart, avoid the penalty box, and capitalize when they get scoring chances.
Anaheim’s Projected Lineup:
Offense
Rickard Rakell – Derek Grant – Corey Perry
Andrew Cogliano – Chris Wagner – Jakob Silfverberg
Nick Ritchie – Antoine Vermette – Kevin Roy
Michael Liambas – Dennis Rasmussen – Logan Shaw
Defense
Hampus Lindholm – Josh Manson
Cam Fowler – Brandon Montour
Sami Vatanen – Kevin Bieksa
In Net
Ryan Miller 2-0-2, GAA 1.88, SV% .943 (Unconfirmed)
Los Angeles Outlook:
The Kings are currently in second place in the Pacific Division but have struggled recently going 2-6-2 in their last 10 games. Like the Ducks, they played yesterday losing to Arizona. Darcy Kuemper was in net, so it’s likely Jonathan Quick gets the start in net tonight. Anze Kopitar and Tyler Toffoli lead the team with 10 goals each. Dustin Brown has eight goals.
Keys To The Game
The Kings beat the Ducks in the first meeting 4-3 in overtime, but since then have had trouble scoring goals. They have lost seven of their last eight games, only scoring more than two goals once. If LA can score three or more goals in this game, then they have a good chance at earning two points.
Los Angeles’ Projected Lineup:
Offense
Alex Iafallo – Anze Kopitar – Dustin Brown
Tanner Pearson – Adrian Kempe – Tyler Toffoli
Mike Cammalleri – Nick Shore – Trevor Lewis
Michael Amadio – Brooks Laich – Andy Andreoff
Defense
Derek Forbort – Drew Doughty
Jake Muzzin – Alec Martinez
Kurtis MacDermid – Oscar Fantenberg
In Net
Jonathan Quick, 9-8-1, GAA 2.44, SV% .926 (Unconfirmed)
