Anaheim Outlook:
The Ducks just battled the Los Angeles Kings and lost in a shootout. The injury bug continues to devastate this team as Rickard Rakell didn’t play Saturday as he has an upper body injury. He didn’t go with the Ducks to Chicago and might join the team later on the road trip. Kalle Kossila was called up and played in Saturday’s game as a result. Ryan Miller did play Saturday and Reto Berra was sent back down to San Diego.
Keys To The Game
The Ducks are going to continue to have to find ways to earn points without key players. Anaheim grinded out a point against Los Angeles and they need to use their physical presence against Chicago tonight. The Blackhawks do give up the third most shots against in the league, so the Ducks will look to pepper their goalie tonight.
Anaheim’s Projected Lineup:
Offense
Nick Ritchie – Derek Grant – Corey Perry
Andrew Cogliano – Chris Wagner – Jakob Silfverberg
Logan Shaw – Antoine Vermette – Kevin Roy
Michael Liambas – Kalle Kossila – Korbinian Holzer
Defense
Hampus Lindholm – Josh Manson
Cam Fowler – Brandon Montour
Sami Vatanen – Kevin Bieksa
In Net
John Gibson, 7-8-1, GAA 2.87, SV% .923 (Confirmed)
Chicago Outlook:
The Blackhawks have gone 6-3-1 in their last 10 games and currently find themselves in fourth place in the Central Division. Artem Anisimov leads the team with 10 goals and Patrick Kane has nine goals. Kane is currently on a six game point streak(4 G, 4 A).
Keys To The Game
Chicago will look to score early and get the crowd into this one. The Blackhawks average just over three goals a game and will likely earn two points if they do that tonight. They are weak in face-offs only winning 48.4%, so they will need to do a better job in the face-off circle as the Ducks are 7th best at 51.7%.
Chicago’s Projected Lineup:
Offense
Brandon Saad – Jonathan Toews – Richard Panik
Nick Schmaltz – Artem Anisimov – Patrick Kane
Patrick Sharp – Ryan Hartman – Alex DeBrincat
Lance Bouma – Tommy Wingels – John Hayden
Defense
Duncan Keith – Cody Franson
Connor Murphy – Brent Seabrook
Gustav Forsling – Jan Rutta
In Net
Corey Crawford, 10-7-1, GAA 2.16, SV% .935 (Confirmed)
