Game 28: Ducks Finish Road Trip In Las Vegas

The Anaheim Ducks(11-11-5) finish their road trip against the Vegas Golden Knights(16-9-1). Vegas won the first contest 4-2 in Anaheim. The game starts at 7:00 PM PT and will be on Prime Ticket locally and AM 830.

Anaheim Outlook:

The Ducks are hoping to get Rickard Rakell and Jakob Silfverberg back tonight as they both practiced yesterday. Hampus Lindholm did not practice and is dealing with an upper body issue per Randy Carlyle.The Ducks sent Kalle Kossila down to San Diego.

Keys To The Game

The first time these two teams played, the Ducks built a 2-1 lead halfway through the game, but Vegas rallied for the win. The Ducks had a difficult time slowing down the Vegas forecheck and allowed 49 shots on their net. The Ducks need to play better defense and they could at least earn a point in this contest.

Vegas Outlook:

The Golden Knights are currently in second place in the Pacific Division. Former Duck William Karlsson leads the team with 14 goals and has 25 points. Jon Marchessault has 10 goals and also 25 points total. They have one of the best home records in the NHL at 10-2-0.

Keys To The Game

Vegas is the 4th best in goals per game averaging 3.46. Their special teams aren’t the best however with the power play ranked 17th at 18.7% efficiency. The penalty kill is only 76.8% efficient, which is 25th in the league. The Golden Knights will look to play as much 5-on-5 hockey as possible tonight against the Ducks.
