Hasta La Vista, Baby
By Michael Walters
David Gunnarson is back at it with his inspiring goalie mask creations. When Leland Irving joined the Anaheim Ducks organization, he wanted a mask design as a tribute to The Terminator. Gunnarson and Leland came up with the idea of a Terminator Duck.
Leland Irving was selected in the first round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames as the 26th overall pick. Irving played in the AHL and NHL from 2011-2013. He played in a total of 13 NHL games during that time for Calgary going 3-4-4 with a GAA of 3.25 and SV% of .902%.
On October 9th, 2017 the San Diego Gulls acquired Irving from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in exchange for future considerations. This season he has appeared in six games with the San Diego Gulls going 1-3-0, with a GAA of 3.47 and SV% of .909%.
Here is a short video clip of the mask.
