NHL Trade Deadline: Will The Ducks Show Murray Enough?

Photo: USA Today

By Michael Walters

Last week the Anaheim Ducks General Manager Bob Murray was interviewed by Craig Custance. The full interview is located here: Trade Deadline Chat(You need a subscription). The comments were aimed at the Ducks inconsistent play.

In response to those comments, the Anaheim Ducks rattled off three straight wins beating Chicago, Minnesota, and Vegas. The Ducks still have a few more games before the trade deadline to continue to trend in the right direction to show Murray to go all in.

On this show, we address the main issue as to whether the Ducks will be able to show Murray enough in the final week leading up to the trade deadline. With an ailing Ryan Kesler and the return of Patrick Eaves not certain, Murray could try to go after a scoring winger. The Ducks have had issues on defense as well. Marcus Petterson was called up and played in the last three games while Kevin Bieksa or Francois Beauchemin sat out. Is Pettersson a short-term bandage for the Ducks defense or is he a long-term treatment plan?

We discuss all of this and more while answering several fans questions. If you have a hockey question for the show use hashtag #AskDNP and we’ll answer as many as we can.
