Game 72: Ducks Look To Even Score With Red Wings

The Anaheim Ducks(35-24-12) square off against the Detroit Red Wings(26-33-11). The game starts at 7:00 PM PT and will be on Prime Ticket locally and AM 830.

Anaheim Outlook:

The Ducks have got back to winning, but they are still in a fight for their playoff lives. Anaheim is going to have to win a majority of their final 11 games to have a chance to make the playoffs. Rickard Rakell leads the team with 30 goals. Ondrej Kase has 17 and Adam Henrique has 16 goals with Anaheim(20 total on the season). The Ducks announced today that Kevin Bieksa will have surgery on his left hand and could be out 2-5 weeks. Korbinian Holzer was recalled as a result.

Keys To The Game

The Ducks need to work on scoring more as the second and third lines have gone cold as of late. Anaheim has also struggled on the power play too. The Ducks are starting to run out of time and need to play complete games if they want to see the postseason.

Detroit Outlook:

The Red Wings are having a down year and will miss the playoffs. They have gone 2-7-1 in their last 10 games and are currently on a four-game losing streak. Anthony Mantha leads the team with 23 goals.

Keys To The Game

Detroit may be on a losing streak, but last time they played Anaheim and earned a win. Detroit was able to slow down the Ducks offense and score a few goals to edge the Ducks. If they can keep this game close, then they have a chance to play spoiler tonight.
