Anaheim Outlook

The Ducks took down the Sharks in their season opener 5-2. Maxime Comtois scored his first NHL goal on his first shot to give the Ducks an early 1-0 lead. The teams would be tied after two periods, but the Ducks were able to pull away in the third period with three straight goals. Anaheim does need to do a better job of sustaining a forecheck and generating more shots in tonight’s contest.

Arizona Outlook

The Coyotes dropped their first game 3-0 to the Dallas Stars. Arizona was able to get 30 shots on goal, but Ben Bishop stood tall in net stopping everything that was thrown at him. Overall the Coyotes played a decent game, but the beginning of the second period was their downfall. They gave up three goals in a row in one minute and 36 seconds of play. Tonight they will look to continue to get shots on goal and try to get their first goal of the season.
