Ducks Acquire Deslauriers
By Michael Walters
Today the Anaheims Ducks acquired left wing Nicolas Deslauriers from the Montreal Canadiens for a 2020 fourth-round draft pick. His contract is worth $950,000 and the Ducks now have about $10 million in cap space per Cap Friendly.
He played in 48 games for Montreal last year and recorded five total points(two goals + three assists). He has played in 317 total NHL games(Buffalo & Montreal) recording 49 total points(24 G + 25 A).
Deslauriers isn’t an offensive threat by any means. He can play both wing positions, but he is a bottom six forward. He is physical on the ice and will stick up for his teammates. It is surprising that the Ducks did give up a fourth-round pick for a grinder type of player, especially when Anaheim has so many young players looking to breakout next season. It appears Jared Boll 2.0 has arrived in Anaheim.
