Game Events:
The Ducks will be wearing their orange jerseys tonight. Teemu Selanne will also be in the house, signing his new book at the team store.
It’s also Law Enforcement Appreciation Night. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department will play the Los Angeles Police Department at noon today.
Anaheim Outlook
The Anaheim Ducks started the homestand with a thrilling 7-4 win over the Jets. They then followed it up with a 2-1 overtime victory against Vancouver. The Ducks were outplayed for a good portion of the game against the Canucks but were able to find a way to earn two points. John Gibson stood tall in the contest and the only goal scored against was one that went in off Korbinian Holzer.
Tonight the Ducks square off against the Chicago Blackhawks, who have had a rough start to the season. The Blackhawks have played 12 games and have only won three of them. Chicago always seems to play Anaheim tough, so the Ducks can’t let down their guard tonight.
Adam Henrique leads the team with eight goals.
Tonight will be Ryan Getzlaf‘s 1000th regular-season game played in the NHL.
Injury/Team Updates:
Max Jones was reassigned to San Diego.
Josh Manson(knee) is on the IR and will be out 5-10 weeks. No surgery was required for his knee.

Chicago Outlook
The Blackhawks are off to a slow start this season at 3-6-3. All three of their victories have come at home. On the road, they have yet to win a game going 0-3-1 so far this season. Part of the reason for Chicago’s poor start is their lack of offense. They have only scored 28 goals which is the lowest in the league and they average 2.33 goals a game, which ranks 29th in the NHL. They also give up just over three goals a game against.
Chicago is struggling on their special teams, which have been anything but special. They are 11.8% efficient on the power play, which is 28th in the league. Their penalty kill is 79.5% efficient, which is 21st in the NHL.
Patrick Kane and five other players all tied for the team lead in goals with three each.
Injury/Team Updates:
Connor Murphy is on the LTIR with a groin injury and could return later this month.
Projected Lineup
Offense:
Brandon Saad – Jonathan Toews – Alexander Nylander
Dominik Kubalik – David Kampf – Patrick Kane
Alex DeBrincat – Ryan Carpenter – Dylan Strome
Zack Smith – Kirby Dach – Andrew Shaw
Defense:
Duncan Keith – Adam Boqvist
Calvin de Haan – Brent Seabrook
Slater Koekkoek – Olli Maatta

Robin Lehner 2-2-2, GAA 2.26, SV% .938(Unconfirmed)
