Anaheim Outlook
The Anaheim Ducks started the road trip against the defending Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues and they beat them 4-1. Derek Grant registered his first career hat trick to help the Ducks earn the victory. The Ducks had previously been on a five-game losing streak at home.
The Ducks have been a strange team this season. They beat the defending Champs but also lost to struggling teams like Chicago and Minnesota. Anaheim will face another strong team today in the Washington Capitals. The Capitals have only lost three games in regulation so far this season.
Jakob Silfverberg leads the team with 9 goals.

Hampus Lindholm(lower-body) remains on the IR.
Projected Lineup
Offense:
Nick Ritchie – Ryan Getzlaf – Max Jones
Rickard Rakell – Adam Henrique – Jakob Silfverberg

Washington Outlook
The Washington Capitals are off to a great start this season leading the Eastern Conference with 34 points. An interesting note about this team is their success on the road. They are 10-1-1 on the road, while 5-2-3 at home. Regardless of where they play, they continue to be a dangerous team averaging an insane 3.68 goals per game.
The Capitals are also good on special teams. They are 23.3% efficient on the power play, which is 9th best in the league. Shorthanded they kill 85.7% of their opponent’s power plays. If there is a weakness to this Washington team, then it would be their defense. They do give up 3.00 goals against per game so this could be a high scoring affair tonight.
Alex Ovechkin leads the team in scoring with 14 goals.
Injury/Team Updates:
Carl Hagelin and Nic Dowd will not play tonight per the Washington Post’s Samantha Pell. Both are still day-to-day with upper-body injuries.
Projected Lineup
Offense:
Alex Ovechkin – Nicklas Backstrom – T.J. Oshie
Jakub Vrana – Evgeny Kuznetsov – Tom Wilson
Chandler Stephenson – Lars Eller – Richard Panik
Brendan Leipsic – Travis Boyd – Garnet Hathaway
Defense:
Michal Kempny – John Carlson
Dmitry Orlov – Radko Gudas
Jonas Siegenthaler – Nick Jensen
In Net
Braden Holtby 10-1-3, GAA 2.97, SV% .904(Confirmed by Tarik El-Bashir)
