Tonight is Hockey Fights Cancer night at Honda Center.
Anaheim Outlook
The Anaheim Ducks return home after a disastrous road trip that saw them go 1-2-1. The lone bright spot was the Ducks beating the defending champs in St. Louis. The low point of the trip was blowing a four-goal lead to Florida and eventually losing in overtime. Hampus Lindholm did return to the lineup in the final game of the trip, but Anaheim still lost to Tampa Bay 6-2.
The Ducks faced several quality teams on the road trip and it doesn’t get any easier tonight against the red hot Islanders. New York has only lost three games in regulation and has won 15 of their last 17 games. Anaheim has won that the last two games against New York at Honda Center. Anaheim is going to need a monster effort if they want to beat New York tonight.
Jakob Silfverberg leads the team with nine goals.

New York Outlook

Some of the Islanders’ success is due to their offense which averages 3.14 goals a game, ranking 13th best in the league. Another key to their winning ways is their solid defense which only gives up 2.43 goals against per game, which is third-best in the league. Their special teams have also been near the top ten in the league. The power play is 20.0% efficient, ranking 13th in the NHL. The penalty kill is 83.3%, which is 10th best in the league.
