Toronto Outlook

The Maple Leafs are coming off a 5-3 loss to the New York Rangers. Toronto scored first to open the game, but then New York rattled off three goals in the first period to take a 3-1 lead. Toronto tried to rally two times in the game, but each time they scored the Rangers would answer back.

Toronto acquired goalie Jack Campbell and forward Kyle Clifford from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for forward Trevor Moore, Columbus’ third-round pick in 2020 (previously acquired from Ottawa on July 1, 2019), and a conditional third-round pick in 2021. Los Angeles will retain 50 percent of Clifford’s salary as part of the transaction.

Auston Matthews leads the team each in scoring with 39 goals.
