Podcast: Ducks Deadline Decisions
By Michael Walters
The Anaheim Ducks completed their last road trip going 3-0-2. They played three games in Canada, which all required bonus hockey. The trip ended with a win in Buffalo as Ryan Miller faced his former team.
The Ducks returned home to face the Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues. The unexpected happened as Jay Bouwmeester collapsed during the first period. It was determined that he had a “cardiac episode” and was transported to the hospital immediately. He was then stabilized thanks to the quick actions of the medical staff at Honda Center and ultimately underwent an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) procedure.

The entire hockey community came together to show support for Bouwmeester and the Blues organization. The game was postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date. The Ducks then resumed play two nights later but were blown out by Calgary.
Lastly, a few more Ducks player names came up in trade discussions recently. In Elliotte Friedman’s recent 31 Thoughts articles he mentioned Derek Grant and Ondrej Kase as possible trade options. He also talked about Anaheim players less likely to be moved.
On this show, we discuss some possible trade options, the events surrounding the Bouwmeester medical emergency and other topics which include:
-What will Bob Murray do?
-Record Tying Road Trip
-#MillerTime
-Trade Role Players?
