All 5th Round Draft Pick Team

I am going to evaluate all of the fifth-round draft picks to determine an all -fifth-round draft pick line. To recap, here is the following criteria that will be used: I’m not going to include any pick lower than the seventh round, their professor experience will be the main determining factor starting with the NHL, KHL, AHL, and/or any other professional leagues they played for.

The Anaheim Ducks selected 25 fifth-round players out of a possible 27 picks. The Ducks selected five centers, four right-wingers, three left-wingers, nine defensemen, and four goalies.

The all-fifth round draft pick line are the following:

LW) Maxim Rybin C) Chris Wagner RW) Troy Terry

D) Pavel Trnka D) Tim Heed

G) Mikhail Shtalenkov

LW) Maxim Rybin was selected in the 1999 draft (141 overall). He only played two seasons in North America (1999-00 and 2000-01) before he went back to Russia and did not return. He played 368 games with the Russian Super League until the KHL league was born. He would go on to play in 536 games in the KHL and scored 185 points (103 games and 82 points) in a span of seven seasons. He won a Spengler Cup with SKA St. Petersburg in 2011, lead the league for most hits in consecutive seasons (2015-2019), and served as a caption for four of the KHL teams. Oh, and that hit record he did while being listed as 5’9”.

C) Chris Wagner was selected as a center in the 2010 draft (122nd overall). He played in 239 games with the San Diego Gulls and the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL. He has played in a total of 317 NHL games with the Ducks, Colorado Avalanche, New York Islanders, and is currently with the Boston Bruins. He has scored 58 points (35 goals and 23 assists) in the span of six seasons and is regarded as a solid bottom line center. Take a look at what makes Wagner, Wagner…

RW) Troy Terry was selected in the 2015 draft (148th overall). He has played in 55 games with the Gulls and has scored 57 points (23 goals and 34 points) in a span of two seasons. He was also selected to represent the Gulls in the AHL All-Star game for the 2018-19 season. He has played 81 games for the Ducks and has scored 28 points (eight goals and 20 assists) in a span of three seasons. He is currently set to become a restricted free agent and according to 10.2(C), he will not be eligible to sign an offer sheet, per Cap Friendly.

D) Pavel Trnka was selected in the 1994 draft (106th overall). He played a total of 411 games for the [Mighty] Ducks and the Florida Panthers and has scored 77 points (14 goals and 63 assists) in a span of eight years. He has also played in 161 games with the Baltimore Bandits and the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks and scored 36 points (11 goals and 25 assists) in a span of three seasons.

On Jan., 30th, 2004, the Ducks traded a fourth-round pick, Trnka and Matt Cullen to the Panthers in exchange for Sandis Ozolinsh and Lance Ward. He is currently retired from playing professional hockey.

D) Time Heed was selected in the 2010 draft (132nd overall). The Ducks did not elect to retain his rights and Heed would sign with the San Jose Sharks as a free agent. He played four seasons with the Sharks and scored 29 points (six goals and 23 assists) in 105 games. He also played in 65 games with the San Jose Barracuda of the AHL and scored 61 points (15 goals and 46 assists) in two seasons. He is currently an active player and is set to become an unrestricted free agent.

G) Mikhail Shtalenkov was selected in the 1993 draft (108th overall). He played in 190 NHL games with the [Mighty] Ducks, Edmonton Oilers, Phoenix Coyotes, and Florida Panthers. He has a career 2.89 GAA, .898 save percentage, and eight shutouts. He also spent time with the Russian Super League and the Olympics for Russia.
