Ducks Announce New ECHL Affiliation

Today the Anaheim Ducks announced they have signed a multi-year affiliation agreement with the ECHL Tulsa Oilers.

The Oilers were part of the Century Hockey League starting in 2000 up until the end of the 2013-14 season. The Tulsa Oilers joined the ECHL in 2014 and have an all-time record of 203-175-26-19 in 423 games since joining the league. The Oilers currently play their home games at Bank of Oklahoma Center (BOK Center), which holds 19,199 fans.

Head coach Rob Murray will start his fourth season in Tulsa for the 2020-21 ECHL campaign. Last season the Oilers were 29-26-7-1 until the season was canceled. Charlie Sampair and Adam Pleskach were the leading scorers with 21 goals each. J.J. Piccinich led the team in total points with 54(12 G + 42 A).

In the 2018-19 season, the Oilers had their best season with 42 wins. They qualified for the playoffs but ended up losing in game seven of the Conference Finals to the Toledo Walleye.

Anaheim’s last affiliate in the ECHL was the Utah Grizzlies(2013-18). Other ECHL affiliates included Fort Wayne (2012-13), Elmira (2010-12), Bakersfield (2008-10), and Augusta (2006-08).
