Anaheim Outlook

The Ducks started off their eight-game homestand with an overtime loss to the Nashville Predators. Anaheim battled back from an early 2-0 deficit to tie the game up. The Ducks then rallied again down 4-2 in the final three minutes of the game. They again scored twice and forced overtime, but then lost after a fury of odd-man rushes by both teams.

The team has been averaging 2.52 goals per game, but has also been giving up 4.00 against. They are 16.0% efficient with the extra man and 72.9% efficient on the penalty kill, both ranking at the bottom of the league. Anaheim also gives up on average 39.1 shots per game which is the most in the league. They average 28.9 shots on goal.

Roster Moves:

Dmitry Kulikov was traded to Pittsburgh for a 2024 third round draft pick and Brock McGinn.

John Klingberg was traded to Minnesota for Andrej Sustr, the rights to Nikita Nesterenko, and a 4th round pick in 2025.

Max Golod was traded to Chicago for Dylan Sikura.

Rocco Grimaldi and Logan Nijhoff were traded to the Rockford Icehogs for future considerations.

Injury News:

Adam Henrique has an MCL sprain and is out 5-6 weeks.

Anthony Stolarz is out for the rest of the season.

Urho Vaakanainen had hip surgery last week and is out 5-6 months.

New York Outlook 

The Islanders played the Los Angeles Kings last night and lost 5-2. The Islanders scored first and had a 1-0 lead after the first period, but then the Kings scored four in a row in the second period and never looked back. The Islanders have lost two in a row and have gone 6-3-1 in their last 10 games. They are currently holding down the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.

New York averages 2.87 goals per game and they give up 2.71 against. They have been 16.5% efficient on the power play and 82.2% efficient on the penalty kill.
