Anaheim Outlook
The Ducks started a four game road trip in Montreal. Newly acquired Jacob Trouba made his debut and played well. Montreal scored in the opening minutes of the game on the power play. Troy Terry scored the next two goals to give the Ducks a one goal lead briefly. Montreal tied it up shortly after Terry’s second goal in the middle frame. The game needed bonus hockey and the Canadiens would prevail in the shootout.
Anaheim then traveled to Ottawa where things went from bad to worse. The Ducks gave up three goals in the first period and couldn’t recovery after that. They were down 5-0 in third when Cutter Gauthier scored to at least ruin the shutout bid by the Senators.
The Ducks faced the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second game of back-to-backs and lost 3-2. Anaheim player better than they did in Ottawa, but still came up with another loss. Frank Vatrano and Jackson LaCombe scored in the losing effort for Anaheim.
