Anaheim Outlook
The Ducks come out of the NHL holiday break with a 3-1 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. Not only did Anaheim lose the contest, but both Brock McGinn and John Gibson were injured. McGinn was injured in the opening moments of the game and only played one shift. He has not practiced since. Gibson took a stick to his face by accident and could not finish the contest.
Today’s matchup will be the first time that Cutter Gauthier and Jamie Drysdale will face their former teams. The two were traded for each other on January 8th, 2024. Gauthier has 15 total points (4 G + 11 A) in 34 games with Anaheim. Drysdale has 10 total points (3 G + 7 A) in 47 games with Philadelphia.

Brock McGinn (knee) tweaked his leg near the boards early in the game against Vegas on Monday. He did not return in that contest and has not been practicing.
John Gibson appeared to injury his eye on Monday when a stick hit him in the face through his mask. He was sick on Friday and did not practice. His status is up in the air this weekend and Calle Clang was recalled as a result.
Trevor Zegras said his knee is feeling good and thinks he could be back before the original six week timeline estimate. He has been seen walking around without crutches.

The Flyers are coming off a 7-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins before the NHL holiday break. Philadelphia is currently on a six game road trip. After today’s game against Anaheim, they will play Los Angeles tomorrow. The Flyers will then play San Jose, Vegas, and Toronto to finish their trip. Philadelphia is 7-7-3 on the road this season.
