The Lightning Shock the Cats

The Lightning played the Florida Panthers for the back end of back to back games for the Bolts. The Lightning had come off a 5-4 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins in a very physical contest. Now for a break down of the two division and state rivals matchup.
First Period
Kucherov got the game started early with a goal four minutes into the contest, the only goal of the period. The rest of the period was physical and had Domingue begin his night solid in the period.
Second Period
The second period was the Louis show as the Panthers were getting all the chances but Domingue did not let up. The Lightning through their struggles Stamkos found the back of the net for a 2-0 lead. However just 63 seconds later the Panthers answered back. Late in the period Callahan capitalized on a breakaway restoring the Lightning’s two goal lead. Yet again the Panthers struck back fast scoring 59 seconds later. 3-2 at the end of two. The Lightning had scored twice on three shots in the period.
Third Period
After a poor performance from Reimer in net with Florida, Luongo came in for the third. Brayden Point introduced him early into the game with a power play goal to make it 4-2. Late in the period the Lightning drew two penalties and with the hot power play Kucherov scored his second of the night putting the game away with a score of 5-2.
Overview
The Lightning struggled in the second but made the most of their chances. The power play was great per usual. Domingue set a franchise record of 10 consecutive wins. Despite the struggles this game demonstrated the powerful offense, defense, and goaltending this team possess.
