Zach Bogosian
By: Philip Wunderlich
The Lightning have acquired recently waived defenseman, Zach Bogosian, and not only that but they have signed him to a one year deal worth 1.3 million dollars. Bogosian is a 29-year-old defenseman who was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers…yes the Atlanta Thrashers. Zach is more of a defensive defenseman who provides grit and fills a desperate need for the Lightning as Ryan McDonagh, Jan Rutta and Erik Cernak are all out with injury. His numbers are not the greatest this season as he has only recorded 5 points for the Sabres in 19 games and was a 0 in the plus/minus category. However, as I mentioned before he is a defensive defenseman and he was not really acquired for his offensive numbers. The Lightning last postseason was lacking physicality and now they have it with recently acquired Blake Coleman and now Zach Bogosian. SOMEBODY HIT SOMEBODY!
