Anaheim Outlook

Ryan Getzlaf played in his final NHL game on Sunday night in Anaheim. The Ducks started out with a 2-0 lead in the first period, but the tables quickly turned in the second period. The St. Louis Blues scored four straight goals in the middle frame and then added two more in the third. The Ducks lost 6-3, but Getzlaf did get an assist on the final Ducks goal to the delight of the crowd.

The Anaheim Ducks will finish up the season on the road for two games. They play in San Jose tonight and then finish the season in Dallas.

The Ducks are 21.8% efficient on the power play, which is tied for 14th in the league. Their penalty kill is 81.3% efficient, which ranks 11th in the NHL.

Troy Terry leads the team in scoring with 36 goals.

Team News:

The Ducks recalled Trevor Carrick, Hunter Drew, and Buddy Robinson from San Diego.

Dallas Eakins will return with the Anaheim Ducks next season per multiple reports. The team is picking up the option for him to return for his fourth season as the Head Coach.

Injury/Illness News:

Jakob Silfverberg (lower-body) remains on the IR with a blood clot in his leg and will not return this season.

Max Jones has been skating, but he too will not play in any more games this season.

The Sharks have won their last two games in a row and have gone 3-4-3 in their last 10 games. They are two points ahead the Ducks and have played one less game. The Sharks like the Ducks won’t be in the playoffs. The teams will be playing for pride tonight.

San Jose averages 2.59 goals per game, which ranks 29th in the league. They give up 3.14 goals against on average. On the power play they are 18.6% efficient, which ranks 23rd in the league. They are tied 2nd in the league on the penalty kill at 85.7% efficiency.
