Anaheim Outlook

The Ducks continue their homestand against the Detroit Red Wings. Anaheim has lost their last three games in a row. They hosted Florida and lost 5-3. Last Wednesday they then lost to Minnesota 4-1. They then took on the Chicago Blackhawks during the weekend and were build a 2-0 lead, but ending up losing 3-2 on a late goal at the end of the third period. The Ducks are still looking for their first win in regulation this season.

Anaheim has been averaging 39.1 shots on goal against, while registering 30.2 in their favor. The Ducks have struggled on the penalty kill(64.3% efficiency) and on the power play(9.8% efficiency). The team has been averaging 2.67 goals per game, but has also been giving up 4.47 against.

Troy Terry leads the Ducks with 19 total points(6 G + 13 A).

Roster Moves/Team News:

Glenn Gawdin was reassigned to San Diego.

Sam Carrick and Drew Helleson were recalled to Anaheim.

Injury News:

Derek Grant (upper-body injury) was placed on the IR(retroactive to November 3rd).

Kevin Shattenkirk (lower-body injury) was placed on the IR.

Jamie Drysdale will be out with a torn labrum(left shoulder) for 4-6 months.

Urho Vaakanainen suffered an upper-body injury when he slammed into the boards during a preseason game against the San Jose Sharks. He is currently on the IR.

John Moore is also on the IR with an undisclosed injury.

Detroit Outlook 

The Red Wings are currently on a three game losing streak like the Ducks. Detroit lost 3-2 in a shootout to Montreal and then were blown out 8-2 by the New York Rangers. The Red Wings then went on the road and lost their first road game 4-3 to Los Angeles.

Detroit is currenty in 5th place in the Atlantic Division. They have been averaging almost 3 goals(2.93) per game. HTye do give up 3.27 goals against on average. Their special teams have been average 19.3% efficiency on the power play and 78.3% efficiency on the penalty kill.

Dominik Kubalik leads the team in total point with 18(7 G + 11 A).
