Anaheim Outlook

The Ducks return home from their four game road trip where the team went 0-2-2. Anaheim had built a 2-0 lead halfway through their last game against Winnipeg, but couldn’t hold it and eventually lost 5-2. The Ducks reassigned Pavol Regenda to San Diego yesterday and Max Comtois will play tonight. The Ducks will go with the 11-7 lineup.

The team has been averaging 2.42 goals per game, but has also been giving up 4.19 against. The Ducks have struggled on special teams this season. They are 16.0% efficient with the extra man and 65.6% efficient on the penalty kill, both ranking at the bottom of the league. Anaheim also gives up on average 37.9 shots per game which is the most in the league. They average around 30 shots on goal per game(30.2).

Troy Terry leads the Ducks with 26 total points(11 G + 15 A).

Injury News:

Isac Lundestrom has a fractured finger and will be out for six weeks. He has been placed on the IR.

John Klingberg (lower-body injury) did practice today with the team, but won’t play per Lisa Dillman. He is still listed on the IR.

Max Comtois has been activated off the IR and will play tonight per Dallas Eakins.

Derek Grant suffered a lower body injury Saturday and did not play on Sunday. He is listed as questionable tonight.

Carolina Outlook 

The Hurricanes are currently on a four game winning streak. They beat Calgary at home and then have gone on the road beating Pittsburgh, St. Louis, and Los Angeles. Carolina is currently in second place in the Metropolitan Division behind the red hot New Jersey Devils.

The Hurricanes are averaging 2.88 goals a game which ranks 25th in the league. They give up 2.76 goals against, which is ranks 7th best. They have been decent on the power play with a 18.0% efficiency. The penalty kill has been operating at a 78.2% efficiency.

Martin Necas leads the team in total points with 28 (12 G + 16 A).
