Anaheim Outlook

The Ducks put together a great performance on Thursday night against Montreal. Anaheim was able to get out to an early lead and when the Canadiens started a rally, the Ducks were able to answer back. Lukas Dostal was solid in net and the power play continues to improve. If the Ducks need a blue print or road map for winning games, then they got it against Montreal.

The team has been averaging 2.35 goals per game, but has also been giving up 4.19 against. The Ducks have struggled on special teams this season. They are 15.1% efficient with the extra man and 67.3% efficient on the penalty kill, both ranking at the bottom of the league. Anaheim also gives up on average 37.3 shots per game which is the most in the league. They average around 30 shots on goal per game(30.1).

Troy Terry leads the Ducks with 28 total points(12 G + 16 A).

Edmonton Outlook

The Oilers lost in their last game against the St. Louis Blues. The game eventually went to a shootout and Jordan Kyrou scored the only goal to give the Blues the win. Edmonton has gone 6-3-1 in their last 10 games and is currently in 4th place in the Pacific Division.

Edmonton averages 3.61 goals per game(tied for 4th best) and they give up 3.39 against. They have the league best power play (31.9% efficiency), but their penalty kill(73.3% efficiency) is sub par.
