Anaheim Outlook

The Ducks are coming a rough loss to the league’s best the Boston Bruins. Anaheim was able to hang with Boston in the first period and found themselves only down by one goal. After that it was all Bruins who scored the next five goals and ended up winning 7-1. The Ducks finish their 10 game homestand against Edmonton tonight and then New Jersey on Friday.

The team has been averaging 2.27 goals per game, but has also been giving up 4.07 against. They are 15.3% efficient with the extra man and 71.4% efficient on the penalty kill. Anaheim also gives up on average 38.5 shots per game which is the most in the league. They average around 30 shots on goal per game(29.0).

Justin Kirkland was in a car accident while driving to the game on Sunday. He has been released from the hospital and was placed on the IR.

Edmonton Outlook 

The Oilers started their pacific division road trip in Los Angeles on Monday and lost 6-3 to the Kings. Edmonton will take on Anaheim tonight then San Jose and Vegas this weekend. The Oilers have gone 4-4-2 in their last 10 days and are currently in 5th place in the Pacific Division. They are tied with St. Louis for the final wild card playoff spot.

Edmonton averages 3.50 goals per game and they give up 3.38 against. They have been 31.0% efficient on the power play and 72.7% efficient on the penalty kill.

Connor McDavid leads the team with 77 total points(34 G + 23 A).
