Ducks Blanked By The Wild

The Anaheim Ducks continued their road trip against the Minnesota Wild. Lukas Dostal was in net against Marc-Andre Fleury.
Recap
The Ducks lost Radko Gudas after he took a hard hit into the boards about five minutes into the game. Marcus Johansson hit him into the boards and Gudas’ right shoulder took the brunt of the check. He did not return in the game.
The Wild opened the scoring just over halfway through the first period. Zach Bogosian. The teams traded power play late in the period, but neither team converted. Minnesota lead 1-0 after the first period.
The Wild killed off the remaining time of the Ducks power play and then Kirill Kaprizov scored shortly after to make it 2-0.
Minnesota got a power play shortly after making it 2-0, but did not convert with the man advantage. There was no more scoring in the middle frame and the Wild held a 2-0 advantage.
In the third period, there was no scoring. The Ducks tried to make a push at the end of the game, but couldn’t get one past Fleury.
Analysis:
The Ducks played a better game than they had in the last three contests. Anaheim was able to play a tight game and keep it close despite having to play most of the game with just five defensemen.
Anaheim played a pretty close game during even strength. They posted a 49.43 CF% and 45.76 FF%. They put up 43 shot attempts to 44 shot attempts for the Wild. The Ducks did have a difficult time getting shots through on net as the Wild blocked 16 shots.
Leo Carlsson did not play in this contest, but he could play tonight. The Ducks could use an offensive boost especially as of late.
