The Ducks started out their current homestand at the Florida Panthers and lost 5-2. Anaheim got things started with an early power play goal, but then Florida scored three times in a row in the opening period. The Ducks were able to pull within one, but couldn’t find the tying score through two periods. The Panthers scored twice early in the third to pull away and win 5-2.
Anaheim then hosted the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Ducks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period. The Penguins pulled within one in the second period, but the Ducks scored three times in the third period to win 5-1.
