Ducks and Oilers Recall Several Players
By Michael Walters
With the Gulls season coming to an end, the Anaheim Ducks recalled several players from San Diego today. Nathan Gaucher, Tristan Luneau, Nico Myatovic, Nikita Nesterenko, Stian Solberg, and Noah Warren were brought up from San Diego. Goalie Damian Clara was recalled on April 26th and Vyacheslav Buteyets from the Tulsa Oilers.
This is the current group of “Black Aces” for Anaheim, who will practice with the team and could step in if any regular players are injured. There are no expected changes in the lineup for tomorrow’s game against the Oilers at the moment.
The Oilers also recalled several players from the Bakersfield Condors with their season also being over. Head Coach Kris Knoblauch said some Condors would be with them in Anaheim, but he didn’t say which players. He vaguely said there would be four or five forwards and three or four defensemen.

Knoblauch continues his gamesmanship as he did yesterday when he stated Connor McDavid and Jason Dickinson were “game-time decisions” for Game 5 when both players ended up playing. McDavid in the post game interviews said there was “no doubt” he was playing. Knoblauch also switched up the defensive pairings from the morning skate to the actual game lineup.
Anaheim Head Coach Joel Quenneville had Cutter Gauthier slated to play on the third line for Game 3 and then switched him to the first line. So let the games continue. The actual lineups may not be known until the pre-game warmups tomorrow.
Note* NHL rosters expand above the normal 23 player limit for the playoffs as long as the team remains salary cap compliant.
