Florida Outlook

The Florida Panthers were deemed one of the Stanley Cup favorites with all the off season moves they made this past summer. They signed former Ducks captain Radko Gudas and brought in Matthew’s brother Brady Tkachuk in a blockbuster trade. They also brought in goalies Jacob Markstrom and Akira Schmid. They also added Garnet Hathaway, Lars Eller, and Alexander Petrovic.

They beat the Carolina Hurricanes in the season opener on the road in OT by a 1-0 Final. They then lost to the San Jose Sharks in OT 4-3. They got off to a decent start, but will not again be without Aleksander Barkov. He fell awkwardly in the game against San Jose sustaining a lower-body injury and was just placed on the LTIR.
