Ducks Trade Coreau To Blues; Acquire Thomas
By Michael Walters
Today the Anaheim Ducks announced they have traded goaltender Jared Coreau to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for future considerations.
He played in 13 games with the San Diego Gulls this season. He posted a 3-6-3 record with a 3.57 GAA and .895 SV%. He did not play in any games with the Anaheim Ducks this season. He did appear in 21 career NHL games with the Detroit Red Wings from 2016-18, posting a 5-9-4 record, 3.74 GAA, .880 SV%, and two shutouts.
Best of luck to him with his career in St. Louis.
Ducks Acquire Jared Thomas
Additionally, the Ducks acquired left wing Jared Thomas from the San Antonio Rampage(St. Louis AHL Affiliate) in exchange for future considerations later today.
He had played in four games this season for the San Antonio Rampage and did not record a point. He also played in 19 games with the Tulsa Oilers(ECHL) recording 20 points(8 G + 12 A) and had a +10 rating and 10 penalty minutes.
The two moves were announced at different times today, but essentially Anaheim traded Coreau to St. Louis for Thomas. This move is mainly based on positional needs for each organization. Both players will be assigned to each team’s respective AHL affiliates.
